13th October Demo.

The scene outside Rotherham Bus Station, the only people to be seen were police I've never seen anything like it before.

Una getting to know the facts.
  -->
Rotherham was deserted today except for  the police all in anticipation of trouble. The local radio stations had broadcast warnings of possible riots and violence breaking out due to two demonstrations taking part in the town centre.
The English Defense league and an Anti Fascist group we were not to be put off, we shop on a Saturday choose what.
As it happens it all passed off peaceably I think it was the 850 Police Officers that did the trick.

The last of this years crop.

The weather's turned cold now, the heat as gone out of the sun there's not much chance of the green tomatoes ripening now. I now if I wrap them in a towel and put them in a drawer they might turn red also if I put them in a bag with a banana that supposed to work also. I just might give it a try but knowing me I'll forget I've done it and the next time I look I'll have a drawer full of penicillin.

Have had the result of my second six month blood test, PSA 0.8 exactly the same as last time all's well. I only have to have my blood checked every twelve months from now on.

Lucky day.

Today I left my bag in the toilets at Tesco it contained my wallet, camera, phone and change purse. The man in the photo handed it in to costumer services fully intact.
The face of a honest man thank you.
It all happened because I did something out of the norm. Before we went out this morning I put my knee supports on (my thighs have given me some stick lately) just to see if it made a difference. While walking round Rotherham one slipped down my leg to my ankle I hadn't put it on tight enough so I had to seek out some toilets to adjust things.
I made for Tesco supermarket but the toilets were closed for cleaning so I asked a supervisor to open the disable toilet if she would. This was my downfall there was no pegs to hang things on so I put my bag on a waste bin, dropped my slacks adjusted my knee straps used the toilet washed my hands and left. Walking down the first aisle I realized something was missing, my bag I almost died.
Straight back to to the toilet I went with very little hope. Then I heard my name come over the intercom someone had handed my bag in. Lucky me!!!!!

A months worth at one go.

I've been an idle blogger this past month so here are some photos of some of the things we have been up to. September is usually a good month for weather, it did not let us down.
I jumped at the chance when the farmer asked if I would like to sit in the cab of this
McCormick TTX 210 fantastic tractor.
Una leading the way, she doesn't mind this sort of country walking.

Drilling (sowing seed) next years barley crop.
The estate has four hundred beef cattle.
The Mill Dam Greasebrough, one of three dams.

Rotherham Show fairground attractions.

I /we don't have the stomach for these rides anymore but they are good to watch.

I think we could manage the bouncy castle at a push.

Part of Rotherhams new Council Buildings opened this year, this is where our Steven works.
The sunlight at this time of day just catches the building in a different way and it shows up gold.
It normally looks greenish and brown!!
Rotherhams new Football Stadium opened new for this years season. The old ground at Millmoor closed four years ago.
Sheffield City Hall, photo taken from Yates's.

A little bit of colour in our back yard.

Two views from Leeds Railway Station.
Leeds has lots of Arcades and undercover shopping much needed with our climate.

Homeward bound stress free travel and for us oldies it's free, but only in the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire.

We're having Summer at last.

It's too hot to walk about we have had some really hot days over the last four weeks not sunny but hot all the same, and the night time temps 60'F it's impossible to get a good nights sleep. I prefer 70'F daytime and below 40'F at night but it's been so long in coming we mustn't grumble.

Christenning Day.

Seated with Debora are the two godfathers and godmothers to Mia and Grace.

Grace thought it was bath time and couldn't wait to get it in.

But to her disappointment it was only a smidgen of water on the forehead.

No tears, just smiles all round.

It was a very happy day.

Holy Trinity Church of England, Thorpe Hesley Sunday 12th Aug.
Today was the christening of Mia Olivia and Grace Poppy the twin daughters of my niece Debora. She is a single parent by choice I am very proud of her. She paid for IVF treatment because there is no man in her life and she felt her body clock was ticking away. She owns her own house, new car is a fully qualified dental nurse but there was one thing missing (which turned out to be two) a baby. Us men do not understand the power of the maternal instinct in women.

We've been out and about.

A trip to Sheffield.
Sheffield Tram Map.
Sheffield Bus Station.
Sheffield Peace Gardens. Sheffield by the sea.

A day out at York.

York Minster.

A simple bus trip that went wrong. We boarded the bus but it went in the opposite direction to where we wanted to go. We just sat there thinking it will not be long before it turns back on itself, not knowing how long that would be. Three and a half hours later we got off, the bus just skirted York never actually going into the city. We had no idea where we were so we just sat on the bus and enjoyed the journey!

A walk around Wentworth.
Wentworth Woodhouse.
 Walking on the Wentworth Estate.
A cattle grid to prevent the Deer escaping .

The Round house Wentworth.

A swift half in the George and Dragon.
Paradise Square Wentworth.
The smell of the fresh country air.

Rotherham by the sea, plenty of sand for the kids.
All Saints Square.

Not quite the Ocean but it will have to do.
