Problem solved

Problem solved, we have a new computer.
Things seem to have gone right by them selves, all I
have to do now is figure this one out!!!!!!!

Just incase.

If the weather gets too bad here's a handy map
of all the pubs in the Lake District.

My worst crop ever.

This is the worst crop of pumpkins I have ever grown, believe it or
not they are all out of the same seed packet. Until I cut into the green
ones I don't know if they are long pumpkins or marrows, I think marrows!
If only things grew as easy as weeds, life would be so much easier.

There and back again.

The weather forecast; dull at first brightening up later.
Not quiet right but near enough, misty with drizzle is
what we got.

The mist did start to lift but the rain hung on a bit.

Up one side and down the other, this is the Lake District
ups and downs.

This May we walked all the way across the bottom of
this valley, it was as dry as a bone, it was the driest Spring
the area had had in years.

Looking back towards the road we have just walked down.

Our Steven my walking mate and camera man.

Nearing the end of an eight mile hike. The rain did stop,
but it always looked as though it was going to start again,
so we kept our waterproofs on.

Off to the lakes.

Normally it takes around two to three hours to get here, but today it took
five. There had been a landslip that had blocked the Harrogate to Skipton
road. We were diverted down through Ottley and Ilkley, the two places we
were avoiding. The traffic through these two places is bad enough at the
best of times, but with the added traffic from the divert it was horrendous.

This was home for the week, a six berth caravan for the two of us. During
the night there were some very loud bangs on the roof, we thought
boulders were falling off the hill side.
The next morning we checked to see what had happened, only to find it
was acorns that had fallen out of the trees.

This was the view from our caravan.

Dewsbury Market.

Yesterday we went to Dewsbury for a couple of hours, it's only
30 miles down the road about 40 mins by car.

It has a very large Muslim population, this is just one of the
stalls that sells ready made clothes. There's a vast array of
stalls, well worth a visit.

Dewsbury in West yorkshire is a very popular market town.

To go there is like being transported to another country, everyone
is friendly, typical Yorkshire folk!

The last this year.

This will be the last photo I take in the greenhouse this year.
The peppers have finally ripened and the tomatoes are almost
gone, nothing left to photograph. It's been a good summer all
in all.

Motion sickness.

Travel bands work for me!

I have suffered with travel sickness all my life.
When I was a child I could not travel very far on
a bus before I was sick, I am no different now, this
I proved yesterday. No I wasn't sick just very close.

Yesterday we decided to have a pop to Selby.
We set off to Doncaster by train, then on to Selby
by bus.

For a trial I didn't put my travel bands on, just
to see what the effect would be. Six mile out of
Doncaster at Askern I had to get off the bus before
I made a fool of myself. After half hour my belly was
OK, so I put the bands on, caught a return bus to
Doncaster and decided no more trials.
For me the bands work. Well worth a try for anyone
that has the same problem.

September 1st.

Just like summer, you wait for it coming and in the blink of an
eye it's gone. Outward railway station on the Wakefield to Leeds
line 11-30am.

The pepper are starting to ripen.

Always on guard in the greenhouse, the eyes are shut but the ears
are open. Most greenhouse have a toad, we have a cat.

At last the peppers are ripening, hopefully they will taste better
yellow than green. The green ones taste really really awful.
