A trip to Huddersfield.

A trip 30 miles by car, a one hour journey no deserts over here just lush greenery.

The world is getting smaller.

This to me is fantastic, technology shrinking the world.
My friends sister was on her way home from Los Angeles, I was on google maps
following her journey on 1-15. Talking to her on her mobile receiving messaged photos
on facebook. She was on her way to Utah I was sitting in my home in Yorkshire.
The top photo mid way on shows Joshua Trees I had never heard of them before.

 The desert, I have never seen a desert or scrub land.

Look at the outside temperature and it's only 8-15am, here in Yorkshire if it gets to the 80s
which it does for 2 or 3 days a year we're all moaning that it's too hot to bear.

At this point I had to go to bed we are 8 hour ahead of your time.
It was about this point where she passed through a time zone and became 7 hours behind us.

I never travel on the top deck, it's like being on a fairground ride. I've tried it a couple of times sick once and got off once before I was sick the other. If there are no seats down stairs I'll wait for the next bus, once bitten twice shy.

I did this just for the photographs, five minutes from Doncaster.

Traveling by bus is relaxing you don't have to keep your eyes on the road someone else takes the strain.


 

A dayout in West Yorkshire.

Wednesday 14th May.
The weather forecast was good so we went off to Dewsbury market, parked the car spent a couple of hours looking round the shops and stalls, had our dinner (lunch) then took a bus ride to Bradford.

On the journey back to Dewsbury we got stuck in a traffic jam for half an hour there had been an accident on the motorway and all the traffic was detouring onto the A roads, the sheer volume caused tail backs for miles.

 Nice weather in Yorkshire does not mean hot, it means sunshine and dry.

It's been a while since we last came to Bradford, this pool was not there then it looks quite continental.

Rotherham the place to be.

 Yesterday there was an English Defense League rally down Rotherham, also an anti EDL rally the two parties have to be kept apart to prevent trouble breaking out.
The Policing was a little over the top but I suppose better safe than sorry.
Una was a big hit with the Police they were uncontrollable as usual, everyone takes to Una, one was insistent that she tried on his helmet.

 

 It was a real carnival atmosphere spoiled mainly by the lack of spectators Rotherham folk don't turn out when there's a demo going on they always air on caution. Honestly I've never felt safer down Rotherham usually you never see a Bobby only cardboard cut outs.

Cataract Surgery.

No outwardly visible signs that anything has been done.

Had cataract surgery on my right eye yesterday. I am now seeing in HD it's marvelous I can't believe how much I could not see before. I really really hope the surgeon will do my other one in four weeks time, but if not in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king.
