Travel bands on, and off we go.

Rosehill Park bus stop.
Kilnhurst Road and Warren Vale junction, the bus turning right is the 218
to Barnsley, the bus coming on is the 22 to Barnsley, the new service.

There’s a new bus service to Barnsley the No 22, this goes via Wath upon Dearne, Brampton, Wombwell finishing up at Barnsley Interchange. Yesterday we decided to try the journey out. By car the journey takes around 20 mins taking the short and main route. By bus No22, taking in all the villages the journey took 48 mins, not bad really! The return journey we decided to take the No 218, this goes via Darfield, Goldthorpe, Bolton on Dearne, Mexborough, Kilnhurst and finally home this journey took 1hr 15mns, just a little too long for my taste. Baring in mind all the places you can alight, both routes do a good job and give good service. My travel bands worked well again!

Every time.

Every time I get the camera out a crowd gathers.

Everyone rushes to get in the shot.

The allotment so far 12/5/11

No 6 plot everything is coming on a treat.

The divider between the allotments. My yellow rose of Texas.

My two allotments No 7 on the left & No 6 on the right, with the water tubs.

Thornless blackberry plants in bloom.

Hedge cuttings drying out ready to burn. This is the plot I grow Pumpkins in.

Lots more things to go in when the threat of frost as gone, end of May usually.

Things in the Greenhouse.

Another year starts.

I bought these two tomato plants at the beginning of April, they were
about 10" high. It was a trial really I did not think they would survive
without heating anyway they have and the first trusses are flowering.

These two tomato plants I bought a fortnight ago about 3" high, they are
now about a foot high, ready for potting on.

These are some onions I have grown from seed another trial, I use sets
normally. I have loads of onions growing in the allotment, all from sets
just to be on the safe side. I'll transplant these seedling next week.

These are my leeks, I always grow these from seed. There's something us
northerners have in our blood about growing leeks we're fanatical about
them.

This is my grape vine, the start of my wine making empire.

All the above photos were taken Yesterday the 8th May.

The same pots today 9th May, what a difference a day makes. These are
my pumpkins my only cash crop, Halloween is good to me it pays the
allotment rent.

Today on Doncaster railway station.

Doncaster Rover were playing an away game today, hence the heavy
policing of the station, waiting for the fans to come home.
Notice no guns, armed only with the pepper spray on there right and the
truncheon on there left, and the knowledge that they can cope.

Sods Law.

Peonies a beautiful flower but very delicate. We can have really sunny
weather, the flower blooms and almost instantly it will rain and knock
all the petals off, it's sods law.
