weather in winter it brings the cold with it, it never got warmer than

26'F today. Luckily no snow!!!!

The first snow this winter.

Awoke this morning to a dusting of snow, it was not unexpected but
most unwelcome. It's the earliest we have had snow for many a year.

Christmas is coming.

Winter veg.

This is only the second time I have grown sprouts, the first time I
tried the sprouts blew. That put me off, they are a long time growing
to have nothing to show at the end of it. Anyway this year I just put
them in and left them to do their own thing, no special care and here
they are. I took some home to have with our dinner, they were FAB
much tastier than supermarket ones.

In front of the sprouts are my parsnips. The allotment looks a bit of a
mess, I don't do winter digging or tidying. In my view it's just making
work if I tidy up now it will still want doing in the spring, so why do it
twice!!!!

These are my leeks camouflaged with weeds.

This is the path leading to the allotments, soon it will be knee deep in sludge.

Remember remember the 5th of November

gunpowder treason and plot

I see no reason why gunpowder treason

should ever be forgot.

A rhyme we learned at school years ago.

November 5th was my dads birthday he really enjoyed that all

England celebrated it. He would have loved how they celebrate now,

I don't think!

Money going up in smoke, he was a typical Yorkshireman money was

not for burning.

The skies above Rawmarsh erupt, starting about 6pm until turned 12.

At first it's all oooohs and aaaaahs.

Then it's, does anyone want a cup of tea?

Then it become a noise you try to drown out with the TV.

This goes on for two nights, the 5th Nov and the following Saturday.

Guy Fawkes would be proud.

For his part in the plot, he was hung drawn and quarted, just like Mel

Gibson but for real.

Halloween.

Our Stuart and some of his friends paid us a surprise visit.

Una and our Stuart round at his mates place, she turns her whole house

into a haunted house of horror.
