2" of snow Boxing Day night.
2" of snow, that's all it takes to cause havoc on the roads in England. Luckily it does not snow all that often, if it did things would be different.
When it does snow it has usually gone in a couple of days, so very little money is allocated for the removal of it.
Walking the pavements covered with ice is treacherous, these snow grips are fantastic no slipping and sliding with these on your shoes.

December catch up.
Barnsley Town Hall.
The sculpture has absolutely no relevance to Barnsley what so ever.
Barnsley Pals centenary square. At the beginning of World War 1, 1914 work mates and pals joined the services to fight the Hun. The regiments became known as the Pals.
The outdoor market.
A sunny day in Rawmarsh but a rainy day over Swinton.
At this time of year we get some beautiful daybreaks.
Doncaster Market day. Tuesday.
Doncaster Minster.
Doncaster French Gate Centre.
Something to keep body and soul together, steak pie, chips, carrots, cabbage and sloppy peas.
Corner Cafe, Doncaster market.
Rotherham, this is the first time I have seen Reindeer, it must be Christmas!
Something we don't see much of, Policemen with guns. After taking this photo I made a hasty retreat, something was wrong and if it went wrong I didn't want to be around.
A more unusual sight a Policeman put the drive chain on a bike for a cyclist, it must be Christmas!

Ken Dodd Show.
Sunday night we went to see Ken Dodd show at the Lyceum Theatre Sheffield.
Kenn Dodd is/was one of the greats, but he is 87 and passed it.
He was a quick witted comedian in the past but now he stumbles and has no speed in delivering his jokes. I hope I forget Sunday nights performance and remember him as he was in the past GREAT.
An audience with Ken Dodd on You Tube 1994 is a good watch.
To cap it all when we came out of the show it was pouring with rain. On the bright side it had cleared the fog away.

Remembrance Sunday.
The Cenotaph Swinton South Yorkshire.
The remembrance service.
Una airing her fathers war medals, one day a year they see daylight.
Remembrance day wreaths.

New York Stadium.
The stadium derived its name from the Guest and Chrimes steel factory
that once stood at the site, and which used to manufacture the fire
hydrants for the city of New York.
We had only gone to the club shop to buy something with the club logo on for Unas brothers Christmas present a scarf.
Luckily for us someone had left a door open so we sneaked in and took some photos.
Some remnants of the old Guest and Chrimes works can be seen in the background of the photo.
