My Cinderella.

Pegging out the washing in her nightwear. As soon as she gets to the washing line the cats appear from nowhere. There are four cats that come to be fed they live a wild life and don't have a real home.

An early Christmas present.

Our Steven bought us tickets to see the musical Oliver one of his Christmas presents for us. The show is on now not over Christmas so it’s an early present for us.
He bought the tickets online Sunday the weather wasn’t bad that day but by Thursday it was blowing a gale raining and bitter cold he was really concerned for our safety had he not got us the tickets there is no doubt we would not have left the house.
Travelling to Sheffield is two bus rides, single decker to Rotherham then a double decker to Sheffield. Going to Sheffield by car is a definite no no what with traffic and parking it’s just not worth the hassle. Anyway we were under strict instructions not to go on the top deck of the bus (it might get blown over). At what age is it that the kids start telling the parents what to do and how to stay safe I’m sure it used to be the other way round, it’s nice to know they care.
Little do they know I cannot travel upstairs on a bus it makes me sick.
From the Sheffield bus station there is a freebee bus that goes round the City picking up and dropping off at different spot one happens to be by the Crucible Theatre were the show is on.
It’s the first time for us in the Crucible we didn’t know what to expect, it looked strange at first it’s like being at an amphitheatre the stage is in the middle with the seating being on either side and the front.
The show started; we all know the songs and the story have seen the film but to see it live on stage was absolutely fabulous it fetched a tear to my eye lots of times.  Loved it.
First stop the booking office to pick up the tickets.
Outside wet and windy.
Almost time for the doors to open.
Both sides of the theatre were packed with school children but when the show started you could have heard a pin drop.
Every seat was eventually filled these are the only photos I was allowed to take photography is not allowed during the performance.

During the interval a toilet stop and a quick check on the weather.
We both went for a leg stretch then took our seats for the second half.

The show is over outside the clouds have gone but the ground is still wet and the wind still blowing it's cold but I thought it looked really beautiful.
Thursday turned out to be the worst tidal surge on the East coast for sixty years, I can well believe it.

Sheffields new Market Hall.

The Moor Market Sheffield open its doors for the first time last Monday. My view it's very disappointing. Nice looking on the outside, shoddy on the inside. On entering two things struck me the passageway leading to the market hall and the smell of fish, it put me in the mind of walking through a dirty gents urinal.
Everywhere has a sameness about it these days every town centre and city centre look the same there is one idea and everyone conforms. Wakefield, Sheffield, Doncaster, Leeds, Barnsley even Rotherham there is hardly any difference this wood cladding is becoming a pain whatever happened to craftsmanship?
