Yesterday it was Summer.

Crows gathering at the bottom of the garden.

Yesterday it was Summer, today we are back to winter. The last seven days
have been warm with clear skies, now we are back to dull grey and cold.
The temps have been in the mid 60's, today low 40's.

Spring blossoms today down Rotherham.

Saltaire for the afternoon.

Bingley to Saltaire walking down by the canal is about an hours walk,
so I took a bus ride, in ten minutes I was there. This gave me plenty of
time to explore the area before leaving for Leeds and back home.

The old Mill.

The terrace houses for the mill workers.

The Almshouses for the old folk. Then not now!
Sir Titus Salt a great man, well worth reading about.

Bingley Five Level Locks for the morning

Today I just had to go somewhere anywhere.
OK we go to Barnsley, Doncaster, Mexborough and Rotherham every week,
sometimes Sheffield but that's routine. I need adventure.

First I caught the train to Leeds, then jumped on the first bus to Bingley.

23rd March hottest day so far.

Five days of mid 60's in a row, today being the hottest.
Last night it was 38' day 67'. I hope this is a sign of things to come!

Spring is here.

Today. 21st March.

Last week. Two days of sea fret and we are 60 miles away from the sea.

Where would I go?

Another frosty morning in good old Yorkshire 22'F last night.

If I could afford to travel half way round the world.

If I could afford to stay in a Marriot Hotel even.

Would I visit Ireland? NO!

I would go to Italy to Venice, Rome, Florence, Pompeii,

Sorrento and Capri.

I would go where it's warm romantic and steeped in history.

Today at the allotment.

Todays weather, dry with gale force winds. The wind was really bad, but
it was dry enough to go planting. I put seven rows of onions in, around
130 in total.

First day at the allotment.

The business end of the tiller, it does a real good job.

The power source for my tiller.

This machine takes all the backache out of digging, but it does nothing for the knees!!!

Before Blogger.

Una has kept a diary ever since I've known her, every day she writes in it
all the things she's done and the things that have happened that day.

They are private, she is the only one that reads them, but she will read them
to us. It amazes me how they transport us back in time.

The other day we were watching something on TV about John Lennon which
raised the question," I know I went out Una but where did I go"?
Upstairs she went, came down with her 1980 diary, and we had a hour of
nostalgia. She gave me permission to take these snippets for my blog.
Blogging's not quite like keeping a diary, a diary has more detail.
