Last nights visitor.

These pictures were taken through the window overlooking the back garden.
A fox in the hen house is a devil, on the other hand they do kill rats and
mice. Everything has its uses, but what use is a house fly?

The new old.

Things to do with some coloured house bricks, a gabble end that
needs shoring up and a good bricklayer with time. What you get
is a memory of the Steelworker of the past.

Ye olde worlde pub.

An old coaching inn near the bus station in Sheffield. The old and the
new hand in hand.

Sheffield stopped.

Today the trams stopped running for over one hour due to the crowds
of mourners outside Sheffield Cathedral. Thousands had come to pay
their respects to another fallen hero Cpl Liam Riley. Yesterday he was
a soldier, today he is a mothers dead son, tomorrow he will be forever 21.
Afghanistan who really cares? I remember Vietnam! Sorrow, no one
ever learns.

A nightly visit.

This fox as become a regular visitor to our back garden.
It is so quick on the move it as been hard to get a photo of it.
Here it can be seen finishing off the cats supper.
In the background is the remains of a snowman from yesterday.
My aim now is to get a better photo of the fox.

Snow, it's back again.

21/2/10 Another snowy start, though I don't think it will stay long.

A walk around Scarborough.

Good morning, looking at you looking at me.
It was clear when we came yesterday, then it snowed in the night.
First job check the car's alright.
Now of to see what's what.
The pavements were like glass, it was another bitter cold 31st.
It wasn't this door where it all started 40 years ago, but one like it. Thanks!
We found Anne Brontes last resting place, she was the lesser known
of the three sisters.
Downhill walk keeping an eye out for traffic.
The pavements weren't safe neither were the roads.
At least this road is on the level.
Una with our Hotel in the background.
A view of the Lighthouse, South bay and Castle.
Una casting off.
We couldn't wait to join the crowd.
It's warm enough in the wet suits but very cold on the face.
All good things come to an end.

31st January 40 years ago.

Una and me on what must have been the coldest day of the year, it has
been as cold every 31st of Jan since. The last forty years have been
fantastic. I hope the next umpteen years are as good.
When we got married everything was black and white, b/w photos,
b/w television, transistor radios and tape recorders.
That was as technical as it got. Wristwatches were still clockwork.

Still my sweetheart after 40 years plus courting time.
Romeo o Romeo. All set for the next forty.

Scarborough weekend 31/1/10.

Daybreak over the bay.
Last nights snowfall.
The harbour lights and bay.
